Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home, using easy methods. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and its culture as well as the landscape. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
