Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. She has performed on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta but she is in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media interest during four consecutive performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
